Marlene's interest in fitness and sports started early in life. Since of the age of five, she participated in tennis and swim teams at the Nyack Field Club. She also competed in intermediate level gymnastics in her early years. In high school, Marlene began attending step aerobics classes at the local YMCA and become addicted to group fitness.
Upon relocating to the San Francisco bay area in 2000, Marlene trained with Master Instructor, Dave Dixon, and learned to teach high intensity, Taekwondo-style cardio kickboxing. She subsequently received certifications to teach a variety of formats including cardio and bag kickboxing, cross training, spinning, boot camp, abs and core training, step, stability ball, yoga (Ashtanga, Hatha and Vinyasa flow), and Pilates (Mat, Yogalates, Small Apparatus, Allegro reformer). She holds several certifications in personal training and coaching has over ten years of teaching and personal training experience in large group, small group and one-on-one settings.
In 2008, Marlene began completing in the sport of triathlon (swim, bike and run). She has already experienced tremendous personal and professional growth in working in the area of multisport training. She became an official USA Triathlon Certified Coach in 2009.
Marlene holds a degree in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from Colgate University. She is also the mother of one darling toddler girl.
