Good to get back in the swing of these after spending the last week of December on vacay in Palm Springs. It was actually cold there so I did some short treadmill runs but didn't feel like running outdoors in a cold, unfamiliar, traffic filled area. I love running outside but not a fan of running on the road with cars. Really dislike the cars and the hard asphalt. Plus, as directionally challenged as I am, running in a unfamiliar place is totally likely to result in me getting lost.
Great first training week of 2010. I also started swim lessons! Yeah, must needed to improve technique. Looking forward to more! I also need to spend some time thinking about how I am going to periodize my training program as it overlays with my race schedule.
I also taught a 30 min intro SPIN class at Equinox for the Burlingame Mom's Club. What a fun group of moms! Hope to see a bunch of new faces around the club this year.
In any case, I also just registered for what will be my first triathlon of 2010, Standard Treeathlon on Sunday, Feb 28 @ Pacific Shores Center in Redwood City, my hometown and location of my previous company, Serena Software. Last year, this race was only the 2nd triathlon I had ever done. Oh how things have changed! Looking forward to a fun, fast race.
